The new art gallery will be in the A.R.T. gallery through November 20th.  The reception for the gallery will be held on November 9th at 5:30. There will be refreshments and live music.  Can't make it? Check it out here.

Cathie Tyler Art Display

The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor's College of Visual and Performing Arts is pleased to present Cathie Tyler: Recent Work, an exhibition featuring the painting of Cathie Tyler, Chair of the Division of Fine Arts at Paris Juinior College, Paris, Texas. She holds and undergraduqate degree and a M.F.A. degree from the University of North Texas.

The exhibition is a series of paintings based on the landspae around her east Texas home, and can be seen as a commentary on, and a tribute to, the beauty, order and harmony within the disparity, complexity and contradiction of her own personal journey and in the nature that surrounds her.

Art of Peace

The Art of Peace Exhibition

                              

This exhibition is part of an upcoming event entitled The Art of Peace Festival, created in support and celebration of International Day of Peace.  Invited artists were asked to create a work, in the media of their choice, that reflected some aspect of peace.

The Festival, to be held on September 20 at Cedarbrake Retreat Center in Belton will include music, poetry and a silent auction of the art from this exhibit.   My heart-felt thanks to all the artists who have chosen to give their time and talent to this very worth while cause.

All proceeds from the Festival will benefit The Children’s Advocacy Center of Central Texas.
